The History Of A Broken MInd

The History of a Broken Mind
Intro
I figure it’s time to open up a bit
And face the fact you won’t remember this
‘Cause you feed off of innocence
And ignorance is bliss

V1
Just like a story here’s a few chapters
Where a child only slowly severs
At her wrist, carved down her legs
The only love she ever said

Was her only embrace
By the knife in her palm
Drowning forever in her own two arms
This is where the madness starts

Chorus
Sometimes she finds herself
Locked inside an ageing hell
Where fire meets forces
Of complete distortion
Burnt beneath each layer of her skin
Her scarring tissue is not a sin
But ‘forgive me now,’ she pleads to you
This ‘perfect’ daughter isn’t true

V2
Gaining tension from attention
She loses her thoughts to a trance
Fighting every monster’s orders
Now she’s lost at the border of

Is this supernatural world
Here to take her home and mind
Hallucinating, she keeps complaining
‘Where’s the love for all this painting?’

Chorus –
Bridge
She doesn’t want to sound
Like a poetic lost soul
But you’ll never understand her
The feelings are not mutual
So give her time to figure out
Every answer she wants to shout
You’re free to help, but leave her be
‘These things take time, it’s up to me’
